Climate-Tested Durability

Performance Grade

Explore Bernet Performance Grade Bitumen, PG and PG PLUS binders designed under AASHTO M320/M332 for climate-specific pavement performance, durability, and flexibility.

High-Performance PG Bitumen

Performance Grade (PG) Bitumen

Bernet Bitumen manufactures a full range of Performance Grade (PG) Bitumen designed and tested under the AASHTO M320 and M332 Superpave system.
These high-performance binders are engineered to deliver predictable rheological behavior, long-lasting durability, and temperature-specific performance for roadways, airports, and industrial pavements worldwide.
Performance Grade Bitumen represents the most advanced generation of asphalt binders, replacing traditional penetration or viscosity classifications with a climate-based, performance-driven system.

Engineered for Climate-Specific Reliability

Unlike conventional bitumen grades, PG binders are classified according to the highest and lowest pavement temperatures at which they maintain performance integrity:

  • The first number (e.g., 64 in PG 64-22) indicates resistance to rutting at high temperatures, and
  • The second number (e.g., –22) indicates flexibility and resistance to cracking at low temperatures.

This ensures that every grade performs optimally under local climatic and traffic conditions, providing longer service life and lower maintenance costs.

Engineered for Pavement Performance

Our Range of Performance Grade Products

Bernet Bitumen produces both standard PG grades and enhanced PG PLUS grades (polymer-modified binders) to meet the needs of modern pavement design.

PG Bitumen

Conventional performance binders formulated according to AASHTO M320 / ASTM D6373, covering all major temperature zones, from cold alpine climates to tropical deserts. Available in 22 grades, including PG 52-10 through PG 82-28.

PG Plus Bitumen

Advanced polymer- and elastomer-modified binders designed under AASHTO M332, offering superior elastic recovery, deformation resistance, and fatigue life. Available in six grades, including PG 82-10 V, PG 76-22 E, and other high-performance variants.

Applications of PG Bitumen

  • Highways, expressways, and airports under heavy traffic
  • Hot and cold climatic zones requiring thermal performance adaptation
  • Long-life asphalt pavements in demanding service environments
  • Industrial pavements, ports, and logistics terminals

Advantages of PG Bitumen

  • Predictable rutting, fatigue, and cracking resistance
  • Climate-tailored binder selection for all regions
