High-Performance PMB Other International Standards
PMB Other International Standards
Bernet Bitumen manufactures Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB) grades formulated to meet non-standardized regional and project-specific requirements beyond the Indian and European specifications.
These specialty PMB grades are designed for extreme climates, heavy-load infrastructure, and custom-engineered projects where precise performance and compatibility with local conditions are critical.
By combining advanced base bitumen with SBS, EVA, and elastomeric additives, these binders achieve superior flexibility, cohesion, and rutting resistance, suitable for challenging construction environments.
Tailored for Regional and Project-Specific Performance
Each PMB “Other Standard” grade is optimized for specific regional climates and technical demands, balancing viscosity, elasticity, and softening behavior.
These binders are fully tested under ASTM D5976, AASHTO M320, and project-specific requirements to ensure performance equivalency with global standards.
Engineered for Strength & Flexibility
Comprehensive Range of PMB Other International Standards
Bernet Bitumen offers the following custom-engineered PMB grades to serve diverse international specifications and client needs:
Bitumen PMB 70/40
Overview: A high-elasticity polymer-modified binder designed for tropical climates and high-load pavements, offering a perfect balance between stiffness and flexibility.
Indicative properties: Penetration 40–70 (0.1 mm), softening point ≥65°C, elastic recovery ≥80%, and cohesion >2.0 J/cm². Provides exceptional rutting and fatigue resistance.
Applications: Used in expressways, container terminals, and airport runways requiring long service life.
Standards: Conforms to ASTM D5976, AASHTO M320 equivalent, and Bernet internal PMB 70/40 specification.
Bitumen PMB AE1
Overview: A high-performance elastomeric binder formulated for Middle Eastern climates, offering strong cohesion and deformation resistance.
Indicative properties: Softening point ≥60°C, penetration 40–60 (0.1 mm), elastic recovery ≥80%, viscosity stable at 135°C, excellent adhesion to aggregates.
Applications: Ideal for asphalt concrete, dense-graded pavements, and binder layers under extreme heat.
Standards: Tested as per ASTM D5976, AASHTO M320, and local ME specifications.
Bitumen PMB AE2
Overview: A stiff, high-temperature polymer binder offering maximum rutting resistance and adhesion for industrial and high-traffic pavements.
Indicative properties: Softening point ≥70°C, penetration 30–50 (0.1 mm), elastic recovery ≥85%, ductility ≥50 cm. Excellent thermal stability and aging resistance.
Applications: Used for heavy-duty roads, ports, airports, and hot-mix asphalt in desert regions.
Standards: Complies with ASTM D5976, AASHTO M320, and Bernet internal AE2 specification.
Bitumen PMB AP1
Overview: A plastomeric polymer-modified binder formulated using EVA additives for improved flow resistance and durability in warm climates.
Indicative properties: Softening point ≥65°C, penetration 40–70 (0.1 mm), elastic recovery ≥70%, and high stability under compaction temperatures.
Applications: Used in urban highways, industrial pavements, and waterproofing membranes requiring excellent adhesion and fatigue resistance.
Standards: Conforms to ASTM D5976, AASHTO M320, and Bernet internal AP1 standard.
