Durable Mastic Solutions

Mastic and Sealant

Bernet Mastic & Sealant grades M1–M4 with QC-verified properties: penetration at 25 °C, softening point ≥70 °C, specific gravity 1.0–1.2, 160–165 °C mixture temperature. Tested per ASTM D5/D36/D70.

Quality-Controlled Sealant Grades for Lasting Performance

Mastic & Sealant Bitumen

Bernet Bitumen manufactures bituminous mastic & sealant compounds engineered for long-term waterproofing, joint sealing, and crack repair in roads, bridges, tunnels, and building envelopes. Each grade below reflects the exact QC controls recorded in your MASTIC sheet.

Engineered for Sealing and Waterproofing Performance

Every batch is verified for softening point, penetration (25 °C), specific gravity (25 °C), mixture/application temperature, and related QC checks. This ensures consistent workability during installation and reliable in-service behavior under thermal movement and loading.

Comprehensive Range of Mastic & Sealant Bitumen

Below are our Mastic & Sealant Bitumen grades. Each section provides a short technical overview, indicative property ranges, typical applications, and standards. Where projects require tighter tolerances, we provide custom production and technical support.

Bitumen M1

Overview: Hot-applied bituminous mastic/sealant balancing workability, adhesion, and temperature stability for general road and structural sealing.

Indicative properties:

  • Penetration @ 25 °C (0.1 mm): 30 (ASTM D5)
  • Softening Point (°C): 70 (min) (ASTM D36)
  • Specific Gravity @ 25 °C (Kg/cm³): 1.0 – 1.2 (ASTM D70)
  • Mixture temperature in executive equipment: 160–165 °C (sheet value)

Applications: Bridge and pavement expansion joints, crack sealing (highways/runways), and building waterproofing details.

Standards: Complies with ASTM D5, ASTM D36, and ASTM D70 testing standards as specified in Technical Datasheet for polymer-modified bitumen mastic used in hot-applied sealing of asphalt joints and cracks.

Bitumen M2

Overview: High-flexibility mastic/sealant tuned for greater joint movement while maintaining bond and stability in warm conditions.

Indicative properties:

  • Penetration @ 25 °C (0.1 mm): 40 (ASTM D5)
  • Softening Point (°C): 70 (min) (ASTM D36)
  • Specific Gravity @ 25 °C (Kg/cm³): 1.0 – 1.2 (ASTM D70)
  • Mixture temperature in executive equipment: 160–165 °C (sheet value)

Applications: Wide-movement joints on long-span bridges, airport slabs, and parking structures.

Standards: Complies with ASTM D5, ASTM D36, and ASTM D70 testing standards as specified in Technical Datasheet for polymer-modified bitumen mastic used in cold-applied or cold-weather sealing of asphalt joints and cracks.

Bitumen M3

Overview: Higher-modulus mastic/sealant for heavy-duty and industrial service where extrusion/rutting resistance matters.

Indicative properties:

  • Penetration @ 25 °C (0.1 mm): 30 (ASTM D5)
  • Softening Point (°C): 70 (min) (ASTM D36)
  • Specific Gravity @ 25 °C (Kg/cm³): 1.0 – 1.2 (ASTM D70)
  • Mixture temperature in executive equipment: 160–165 °C (sheet value)

Applications: Container yards, ports, warehouse aprons, toll plazas, and other high-load joints.

Standards: Complies with ASTM D5, ASTM D36, and ASTM D70 testing standards as specified in BERNET Technical Datasheet for polymer-modified bitumen mastic used in heavy-duty sealing of concrete joints and runway pavements.

Bitumen M4

Overview: Premium waterproofing mastic/sealant combining durability and adhesion for long service life on civil and building works.

Indicative properties:

  • Penetration @ 25 °C (0.1 mm): 20 (ASTM D5)
  • Softening Point (°C): 70 (min) (ASTM D36)
  • Specific Gravity @ 25 °C (Kg/cm³): 1.0 – 1.2 (ASTM D70)
  • Mixture temperature in executive equipment: 160–165 °C (sheet value)

Applications: Tunnels, retaining walls, roofs/basements, structural cold joints, parapets, and bridge accessories.

Standards: Complies with ASTM D5, ASTM D36, and ASTM D70 testing standards as specified in the Technical Datasheet for polymer-modified bitumen mastic used in heavy-duty sealing of concrete joints, tunnels, bridge structures, and runway pavements.
