Premium Standard Bitumen
CAP Grade Bitumen
Explore Bernet CAP Bitumen, DNIT 095/2006-compliant binders (CAP 30/45 to CAP 150/200) engineered for Brazilian climates. Superior flexibility, adhesion, and durability.
High-Quality CAP Grade Bitumen
CAP (Brazilian Standard) Bitumen
Bernet Bitumen produces and exports CAP (Cimento Asfáltico de Petróleo) grades in accordance with Brazilian standard DNIT 095/2006-EM.
These binders are refined and tested to meet the climatic and performance requirements of South American pavements, offering a perfect balance of adhesion, flexibility, and thermal stability.
CAP grades are classified by penetration and softening point to ensure predictable performance across various temperature zones, making them ideal for road surfacing, waterproofing, and industrial applications.
Designed for Brazilian Pavement Conditions
CAP binders combine durability and consistency, ensuring reliable performance in hot, humid, and tropical climates.
Each grade is optimized for mixing, compaction, and long-term stability in compliance with DNIT standards and local climate classifications.
Quality You Can Build On
Comprehensive Range of CAP Grade Bitumen
Bernet Bitumen supplies the full range of CAP grades approved under DNIT 095/2006, suitable for all Brazilian regions and pavement layers. Each section provides a short technical overview, indicative property ranges, typical applications, and standards. Where projects require tighter tolerances, we provide custom production and technical support.
Bitumen CAP 35/40
Overview: A hard-grade asphalt binder designed for high-temperature regions and heavy-traffic highways, offering excellent deformation resistance.
Indicative properties: Penetration 35–40 (0.1 mm), softening point ≥55°C, ductility ≥40 cm, and flash point ≥230°C. Exhibits high stiffness and oxidation resistance.
Applications: Used for expressways, airport pavements, and industrial road networks under intense loading.
Standards: Complies with DNIT 095/2006-EM (CAP 30/45).
Bitumen CAP 50/70
Overview: A balanced binder for warm to moderate climates, providing a combination of flexibility and durability.
Indicative properties: Penetration 50–70 (0.1 mm), softening point 50–56°C, ductility ≥50 cm, flash point ≥230°C. Stable viscosity ensures consistent compaction and mix behavior.
Applications: Ideal for dense bituminous macadam (CBUQ), surface coatings, and road rehabilitation projects.
Standards: Conforms to DNIT 095/2006-EM (CAP 50/70).
Bitumen CAP 85/100
Overview: A soft binder suited for cooler climates or light-traffic pavements, offering excellent adhesion and flexibility.
Indicative properties: Penetration 85–100 (0.1 mm), softening point ≥45°C, ductility ≥75 cm, flash point ≥220°C. Maintains coating ability and fatigue resistance.
Applications: Used for urban roads, maintenance coatings, and low-volume pavements.
Standards: Complies with DNIT 095/2006-EM (CAP 85/100).
Bitumen CAP 150/200
Overview: A low-viscosity binder designed for cold or high-altitude regions, where superior workability and flexibility are required.
Indicative properties: Penetration 150–200 (0.1 mm), softening point ≥42°C, ductility ≥100 cm, flash point ≥220°C. Easy mixing and coating properties at lower temperatures.
Applications: Recommended for cold-mix asphalt, surface dressings, and crack sealing in cold climates.
Standards: Meets DNIT 095/2006-EM (CAP 150/200).
